• Re: Where is BeoSound8 made?

How about comparing it to the Beolab 3500? You can use the BS8 as a link speaker and it also has the ability to be used as a dock. And it sounds as least as good as the 3500 and is cheaper.

Actually that doesn't surprise me. Quite rare, usually not working and sought after.

I think all views are valid. It just depends on why one buys B&O. Some people will buy it because it is exclusive and for the brand. Some buy for the design. Others will buy because it is Danish. Some buy for sound quality and ergonomics. All these are perfectly reasonable with none being the only reason one should buy the product. Clearly if one

  • Re: Beogram 8002 turntable

You can actually test that it is the cartridge quite easily. First try it as B&O intended. One channel will not work. Then take it out and turn it upside down and put it in. You will need to turn the gram on and once it drops, catch it and touch the stylus with your finger, The opposite channel will now not work and you will have tested the leads

A common fault in MMCcartridges, particularly the later ones. The pins work loose. You can sometimes remedy this by tapping the pins with a very small hammer and resolving never to take the cartridge out again. I would suggest walking away from this one though. Soundsmith are not as pretty but will work and have a guarantee.

No! He has been very quiet for a day or so though so I suppose he has possibly got the mother of all hangovers!
The whole thing sounds like a con to me. Ford Fiesta for Jaguar price anybody?
But it isn't a Ford Fiesta - it outperforms any other dock. Think Aston Martin Rapide if you will. (Made in austria)

I must confess that although I like the thought of all B&O being made in Struer , the reality has long been that large parts of the products have been bought in and only the final assembly has been in Denmark. All TVs have long been made from Far Eastern parts, much of the electronics are assembled in China, and very little except the alumium originates

  • Re: Beogram 4000: worth it?

The build quality on these are fantastic - the bearing is huge and over-engineered. Compare it with the later 4002 and see the difference! Sounds like this one is destined to be beautiful so please take lots of pictures!
