Sounds good. Paul. It doesn't matter which sort of plug it is, just that it has the connectivity for it to sell. I can't imagine someone of the iPod generation not wanting to at least try to connect his/her computer to it.
that's what I ment... an iPod dock without speakers would make no sense at all... In the mean time we've all seen the drawings... Dolly Parton Bra shaped speakers with a dock in the middle
That's my point: Since it's not "just a dock", but in fact two speakers, being able to
I don't see the use of Airplay in a dock! Or you have dedicated speakers with airplay or you have a dock which plays the music from your iPod.
But the Beosound 8 is not just a dock. It's a (presumably) rather expensive dock with speakers. Or, in monetary value, it's two speakers connected

You have arrived at a conclusion as to what constitutes good sound, to you, and now you're mystified that the entire world isn't on board with you. That's something you'll never experience - listening preferences are simply too diverse
*Sigh*, this is the problem with internet discussions - you tell yourself you're not going to argue anymore, and then the other person says something to draw you back in. I can accept what you're saying about me; I don't know anything, I'm the uneducated one, blah, blah, blah, whatever. Honestly, it's
Ok, do you know of a program that can convert Wav files to lossless?
Yes, iTunes on Windows can convert to WMA lossless which is what you need on the BS5, Foobar as is mentioned, and my favourite: The paid-for version of Winamp.
As I see it, B&O have attempted through the years to provide listeners with a particular type of sound. I am not sure that it is always the most accurate but it has tended to have a certain character which lends itself to extended listening without drawing attention to itself.
Most of that is certainly from
