Thanks guys for your advice, but i've managed to sort it now - thanks to the help of the seller (thanks again Hagen, if your on this site). What i didnt realise was I needed to switch the TV on with DTV rather than just TV (i told u i was stupid) And the scart connection from the freeview box needed to go in the 'Decoder' socket, which did

The Freeview box I am trying to use (and have used with no problem with my Avant for long time) is a Sony one (i dont know the model number) Thanks.

This may very well sound a stupid question... I have today picked up a BV5 and upon mounting it on the floorstand, I took the scart plug out of my Avant (where the freeview box works fine) and have tried it in each of the 3 BV5 scart connections, Decoder, AV, and V.Tape sockets. I have then been trying to tune in the Freeview box on the TV - and I cannot
