Thre is quite a difference between these models. The 4000 is the original and is extremely complez with its own frequency generator and complex electronic switching. It has a wonderful AC motor by Pabst I believe. The first few 4002s and 6000s were much simplified in the electronics but kept the AC motor but these were soon changed to the DC motor seen

Rather depends on the AV out that you have. If this is a RCA out and is fixed line level, this can go direct to the Aux input on the Ouverture. I tried finding a manual on line but couldn't see one.

I think B&O have tried having their own forum at least three times and each time it has just not worked. This is because it will always be populated by unhappy customers who have been failed by the system. As B&O are the system, they have little answer. Couple of points to above - we have 10,000 + members - the number of gold members is around 500 and stable for some time. We get a large number of people asking for advice off site who are not active on the forum - a fair percentage think we are B&O!

Very good decision. I had the BG5000 and was seduced by the 5005 - and regretted it!

I think it is very positive. We have obviously discussed this and the main issue is editorial independence. This is however an enthusiast site so we are on the whole very positive about B&O as are the vast majority of members. We do however realise that this site is only as good as its members and hence the reason for asking the opinion of the members

Had a discussion about RIAAs in B&O. The consensus was that the one in the BM8000 is probably the best. The one in the BG6000 is obviously a bit odd!
