  • Re: cannot control sky using beo4 remote number buttons, Any thoughts

You won't need to unplug it for the full 30 minutes, a minute or so is usually enough to fix it.

Morgan: Eliane Elias, "Brasilian Classics", track #2: "Chega de Saudade" Like Diana Krall but in Brasilian Style. Great piano player. That name rings a distant bell, possibly because I've got a track by The Cat Empire called 'Song For Elias' At the moment - 'All is Full of Love' by Björk.

Agreed! Most people who don't like OS X are trying to use it like Windows, and expect it to do everything in the same way. Things are different for a good reason, and I'm glad I switched to Mac!

  • Re: Speaker Type settings

Forgot to say what it does! Choosing the correct speakers in the setup menu basically tells the surround sound decoder where to send the bass, and also protects the speakers by attempting not to send sounds to the speakers which might send them into protection (although this is very very hard to do). Using the BeoLab 5 setting with BeoLab 9s will be

To be honest with you, I'd leave it on BeoLab 5. The BeoLab 9s are smart enough to flick into protection mode if you push them too hard, and they go lower than any other B&O speakers so far (other than BeoLab 5s). Yes there is a software update though! Not worth it IMO

  • Re: Speaker Suggestion

Your dealer may not be aware that they are now ICE Powered, B&O didn't make a song and dance about it, they simply changed all the part numbers. That's what to ask for if they look at you quizzically when you say 'ICE Powered BeoLab 4000s', just ask for 'New part-number BeoLab 4000s'.

I've got a remastered version of that, on a disk B&W Loudspeakers sent me, sounds much better! Currently playing - Beyond this Veil of Crystal Rails, a collaboration by Harold Budd.

  • Re: iPhone

Actually, PC World tested one, and said it's practically impossible to scratch. Even attempts to purposefully scratch and dent it failed. And AT&T's EDGE network is now faster than 3G. They upgraded it all a few hours before the iPhone was launched, and some people have reported much faster transfer speeds than we initially expected...

I'm gonna vote BeoLab 4000s. If you use BeoLab 6000s, they often end up firing straight into the back of a sofa, or other furniture. BeoLab 4000s can be mounted at whatever height you want. Bear in mind that the BeoLab 6000s can be wall mounted now though, if you want to go for them instead, although as others have said, the BeoLab 4000s are kinda slightly
