  • Re: Falling on my sword

My dad's just switched to Mac as well, and is looking at moving his business across to a Mac network! He loves his MacBook, and was amazed when I showed him how you just plug in a printer and click print!

Hardly in terms of low frequency performance. The BeoLab 9s sound kinda weedy in comparison to what they really can do when used with the BeoLab 1 setting, they sound miles better when used with the BeoLab 5 setting...

  • Re: Beolab 8000 IEC-Power?

Not true at all 355f! B&O have been manufacturers of fantastic hifi for years, some products more design based, others more purely about performance. The BeoLab 5000 system is a good example, BeoLab 5s the same. B&O do tend to put more focus into the design of their products than other companies, but that doesn't mean the main focus is design. • Re: iPhone

Most people seem to be flaming it for some of the lacking software features, such as stereo bluetooth support (not the first time I've seen that), but bear in mind this phone is essentially a Mac, it runs OS X and hence can be updated as easily as any other Mac.

I would say the Pentas are the second closest to the BeoLab 9s, but the BeoLab 5s are much closer! When BeoLab 5s are used as front speakers, at least BeoLab 3s should be used as rear speakers IMO, I just find that BeoLab 6000s or anything less don't really do it justice, especially BeoLab 4s which will really really struggle. Don't forget the BeoLab

  • Re: HELP needed for my speakers

DoubeR was referring to the speaker covers, not the actual drive cones themselves. You could always have a go at doing it yourself! Not sure what cloth to use, but I re-covered my S25s successfully, and the M150 covers seem pretty similar in their basic construction (even if they are several times bigger!).

  • Re: iPhone

Apparently they make something like a 40% profit on it, but I still think it's amazing they can supply a piece of hardware like that for under $1000. It's built to a very high quality apparently, and so far they seem relatively reliable (bar a few problems with speakers being too quiet).

  • Re: Sliding Controls for BEOMASTER 4400 Type 2417 Amp

I had to do the same with my BeoMaster 4000 (my 4400 was fine). You'll have a heart attack when you first open the unit, but it's not as scary as it seems! Worth it in the end though, as you'll have one of the best amps B&O have made
