Welcome to Beoworld ! The sensor and lamp in the arm parallel to the tonearm is not for tracking but for record sensing. The tracking lamp and sensor sits at the foot of the carriage in a housing shielded from ambient light. The tonearm should be parallel to the sensor arm when the tonearm is lifted. It's an optical mech. inside the carrriage housing, electronics on the main board and a servo motor with a belt drive. A lamp, an interrupter and an LDR sits inside the carriage housing. There were other producers of MPX modules (stereo decoders) that fit the Beomaster 900 and 1000. Just recently, I discovered this Scan-Dyna module in a Beomaster 900K. Same method of fitting and same plug as B&O's. Not sure if that will make it much easier to find one, though... Martin

The BM8000; The display/processor board interconnects are known troublemakers. Check for cracked solder joints and conncetor pins losing their tinned coating. There are a couple of issues with the processor board and some fixes, we had it up recently so do a search and I'm sure you will find it. And yes, capacitors as always. Check also amplifier

Yes, you will need to go in from below. Deoxit is not something I would recommend. Like WD40 and other 3-1 products, it's probably very good for something but not a thing I would like inside any B&O. Contact cleaner is good for cleaning contacts but only if you can clean it all off afterwards. Contact cleaner does not remove anything, it will
