Alas no, that's why mint examples fetch high prices.

I have had this problem and it turned out to be the mute switch in the deck.

Active equalisation means that the spec says that the bass was slightly boosted in the 4500 to compensate for the smaller cabinet. I tend not to believe a lot of the marketing hype which surrounds the writing of specifications. As far as sound goes, the 5000 is just a bigger sound all round. Brighter and more in your face than, say, Pentas. I prefer

I believe that parts are still available from B&O so suggest that you contact your dealer.

You need to store your preferred startup settings. When you have the system sounding as you want it press Programming>Sound>Store on the 9300 or Sound>Store>Store on the Beolink 1000. Now, every time you switch on the system will start with your settings.

Yes of course, it will control all functions on the 9300 except open cassette or cd doors. Edit......which socket do you plug the 5 pin din into?
-
I prefer the 1000 because I think it is easier to use when you have multiple systems. All the buttons are right there on the remote without having to use the list on the Beo4. It's a bit marginal and probably influenced by what I have become familiar with. Not sure that I completely understand the second part of the question. The 9300 has no RCA

The correct answer is either. It really is a matter of personal preference. Is there any one close to you who has both that you could try? My own preference is for BL1000 but there are probably a majority who would disagree!

Cor.rect Andy so it must have been the service manual I read it in. I just checked and it's not on the site so I must have downloaded a copy from the old site. The old site is of course no longer available and I've had two new hard discs in the computers since then!!!! Somewhere I have a print of it ..........

Never seen this problem before so difficult for me to be of much assistance. Are you sure that you have an FM aerial plugged into the co-ax socket? What type of aerial are you using? The 9000 series have two aerial inputs, one AM and one FM. Your problem sounds very much like it's aerial related.
