That's because when you watch through Sky HD, it's upscaled. With the BeoVision 7 DVD player, it doesn't really do much in the way of upscaling. Much more impressive on a BeoSystem 3 based BeoVision!

Plus the BeoCenter 6 outperforms the BeoVision 7 even if you take screen size into consideration IMO...

Quite a while ago I bought £30 a metre Chord speaker cable, and it did definitely make a difference, even though it was very very small. However, I'm less persuaded by interconnects, and IMO, no matter what cable you're talking about, the money is better spent on a good CD or DVD!

Yes the picture will be better in standard definition. It's essentially got a BeoSystem 3 built in driving picture and sound, and hence will give the same kind of standard definition performance you see on the BeoCenter 6 and BeoVision 9 (which both are looking very good with standard definition).

Specs mean nothing. BeoCenter 2 is better to my ears, but I suggest you ask your dealer if you can do a side-by-side comparison. Don't forget the BeoCenter 2 also gives you radio...

I think you're getting dispersion and origin of sound mixed up! With normal speakers, as you move around, you get a different sound from the speaker. Try standing in front of a normal speaker, and then move left and right. You can hear how particularly the high frequencies change in relation to where you are positioned.
