Yes, the RIAA preamplifier was an option for the Beogram 1000. Many were mounted, especially for use with the first versions of the Beomaster 900, but for some reason, they are not very common today. I agree with Peter. And to others who are tempted to experiment with platter cleaning - DONT ! Even water will remove the silky coating and it's impossible for us mortals to recreate. A soft dry cloth is all it will accept. Martin

Jeff, Try running a lead from the metal chassis of the BG4000 to the metal chassis of the amplifier, most amplifiers have a fingerscrew provided for this. Martin
