That's right. The Beomaster has 2 x 55W in total (and it will not bridge over channels, so it will be strictly 55W max per channel), and you can't increase that with more (passive) speakers.

Well, it depends... there are different levels of "working". If the Beomaster, although "working", needs service as so many of eBay finds end up needing, you may have to invest another $150 for that unless you can do it yourself. The MCP usually works or it doesn't, but either way, it isn't worth much. Which is a bit silly

Simon, that quote of yours probably involves an outside aerial hanging off a helium balloon suspended by golden wires and launched by a B&O dealer. Do you have any kind of aerial connected to your Beosound now? If not, any darn £1 indoor wire antenna should improve over that greatly... I personally could not live without FM radio.

If you didn't do the multimeter test and the drivers are installed, just play some (decently balanced) music and put your ear next to each driver in turn. If a tweeter is working, you will definitely hear it. If you don't hear anything from any of them... how were the crickets last summer?
