  • Re: do I need a BeoLab 2 ???

I'd try it without the BeoLab 2 at first, and then add one if you really feel it lacks punch. I've found the BeoLab 9s to be far more capable in terms of performance in low frequencies (although maybe not as loud). For those of you who were confused about what I said, when you connect like this: PowerLink outputs --> BeoLab 2 --> BeoLabs the BeoLab

  • Re: Beo4 or Beo 5 pilot PS3 in Main/Link room?

Unfortunately no, unless I have missed something big! I have seen no ways of doing this, as nobody has used a Bluetooth remote before Sony did with the Play Station 3.

  • Re: Beolink wireless has been updated

The picture isn't carried by the B&O cabling, it's carried through your aerial system. The Wireless only handles the B&O cabling.

  • Re: I think the BV 7-40 is a little bit dark!

I think BeoLab means it's too dark... It's entirely possible there's something wrong with the set. I've seen a BeoVision 7-32 which is intermittently dark, possible yours is suffering from the same issue except it's constant? Either that, or you haven't yet got used to 'that B&O picture', which is sometimes darker than other sets, but usually more natural

  • Re: Subjective, biased, unscientific opinion

Beolab: Alex: Bear in mind this is the BeoSystem 3-based US version. The current (pre-late 2007) version of the BeoVision 7 in Europe is a completely different set internally, and hence does none of this anywhere near as well as the BeoSystem 3 based sets do... Alex I'm think your wrong here. I spoked to my friend ho works at a B&O shop here

Not to a B&O surround sound processor, but to the PowerLink outputs on my BeoSystem 7000. Worked very well, and sounded very good with my B&W DM303s, but with my DM7s, just confused things as the DM7s go deeper than the PV1. I have heard a PV1 used with B&O gear (somebody who bought BeoLab 3s off eBay, and later changed them for 8000s), and with both

  • Re: Subjective, biased, unscientific opinion

Considering it's upscaling an analogue signal (when watching DVD), the BeoSystem 3 does a better job than anything I've ever seen. However, bear in mind that when your DVD player upscales it, it has all the digital information the DVD can spit out, and hence with some clever software can 'fill in the gaps' in a better way than the BS3 can when using

  • Re: In Audio, two are born every minute ...

I guess they're the kind that don't need to sleep at night, how they can sell such utter junk is beyond me... Another one I remember was a guy selling (very expensive) crystals which when arranged around a power amplifier in the correct pattern, would increase the amp's dynamics and detail dramatically... Yeh right! What's the point on improving something

The PV1 is a good subwoofer, indeed I had one for a week and for music it's great. However I feel the performance of the BeoLab 9s is better than the PV1, and I think the frequency response of the PV1 is a bit exaggerated. I'm going to say no, you don't need a subwoofer when using the BeoLab 9s. If anything, you're just going to make the sound worse
