I suppose the general idea is to use both, but plain 61 has worked for me... (according to the safety information, half of it is isopropanol and it also contains naphta, so it will dissolve as well). Anyway, for potentiometers and sliding switches you will want some lubricants to be left behind, and that's the 61 and similar products.

Well I don't know what it is since the service manual doesn't have component placement pictures... But, the resistors are shown as 1 ohm x 2 2.2 ohm 3.3 ohm 4.7 ohm x 3 8.2 ohm ...so try to find out which one is missing. To keep things interesting, the actual crossovers often don't match the service manual!

Perhaps you have the weekday (or the year) set wrong in the 9500 (which actually does the timekeeping) and it just happened to think it was Saturday or Sunday when it should have woken you up?

I used to build setups like this as a kid. The basic idea is to direct the difference between the main channels to one or two rear speakers, with a number of variations on the details. Haven't bothered in 25 years or so, but I do remember that it sounded pretty good when you first connected it up - and at least equally good when you disconnected

Hi Ian, yes I think this is just the part that was mentioned. The cable attaches to a small plastic peg in the arm carriage that seems to have a habit of snapping off. It was broken in my 7000 as well when I got it - see this thread for some ideas. It's really not a bad job, but definitely falls into the "tinkering" category.

It may be different in the States but over here, any good (and even most not so good...) electronic components store will have them.

But if you do have the cabling or can build it - go ahead and try this and tell us how it worked! Not a disaster - unless you have tweaked something yourself, the complete Wine environment of your user account is contained in the ~/.wine directory.
