welcome to beoworld! i would recommend just what everyone else already has... a 700x/7700 and a pair of early s45's or perhaps p45's... i like these centers very much. this series can be remote controlled, i am 99% sure the 2000 can't... the series is cosmetically very similar (same footprint) -the 700x has a clear cover over the ttable
or a possible loose wire when they joined the two speaker cables togeather( Solder ) @ the 9000
ah... just how/why were these modded? have they been tested/have they worked before??? sounds a bit odd to me?
-
ditto for me from the (2) previous posters... maybe the pics are awaiting reloading after the big cutover? i would love to see them!
-
good point... i was originally going to say: can the 5000 as it would be relatively easy to re-source, but... you love your 8000 and the 6000 is similar enough. if you kept the 5000 you would still have some diversity and placeability (is that even a word??? ) in your collection. feel like you're choosing between children???

very interesting thread! (i am the crazy person that wants to hang a panny panel off the front of an avant) @beobuddy: what a knockout! your bv5 looks fantastic! drool!
-
i am such a ding dong! this entire time (including the other thread) i assumed you were working on the cat track 1600! d'oh! looks great!

well... the definition of a forum: a public meeting or assembly for open discussion so... say whatever you want! w/ regards to sales and salesmanship specifically... some of my very best friends have been salesmen that i have dealt with over long periods of time. with that said, none -not one of them, was ever particularly passionate nor knowledgeable
-
i have both and love both... if i was on a desert island, the nod would go to the 4400. a classic, timeless, incredible sounding master that everyone should have in their collection... the 6000 is nice and has remote ability, but they can run hot, and sooner than later, the volume controls need attention... just my .02 cents...
As far as I can see the panels are plastic on my 5000, there was no reason to make them from glass.
i wonder if mine were unique -in that they may have been an early production run??? i still have the master, but replaced the beocord... actually another member here got it -damage and all! i will see what i can
-
80's version -yes... the bc display was bad -cracked and chunked out -all powdered up... definitely glass!
