  • Re: I think the BV 7-40 is a little bit dark!

I'd give it a few weeks of use just to settle down, and then if it still takes that long to warm up, talk to your dealer. It really shouldn't need hours to warm up, only a matter of minutes at most...

  • Re: do I need a BeoLab 2 ???

Yes you could achieve that vaguely by turning down the bass control, but it's such a crude method of doing it, I really think it would just leave you with a big bass gap where bass is most important, around 100 Hz. By removing those frequencies, it's going to sound really 'empty' and boomy. The Bass control does not control exactly the same frequencies

Peter: Just to redress the balance a little, I think my BL2 is superb as an AV sub woofer and regard it as one of my best buys. I don't find that when used with Pentas that it lacks punch at all. Each to their own though. I would suggest that at some point you try a PV1! It's a very very good subwoofer, considerably better than the BeoLab 2 IMO

  • Re: Beo4 or Beo 5 pilot PS3 in Main/Link room?

Nice find! Although I suspect it probably responds quite slowly, and does require quite a large amount of fiddling/unnecessary tech to get it going. I'm sure somebody will come out with a solution soon though...

  • Re: do I need a BeoLab 2 ???

The BeoLab 2 is definitely slow and cannot keep up with fast basslines, as Bulgarien says, it's just very vague and doesn't sound anywhere near as 'detailed' as the BeoLab 9s. Plays very loud though! Louder than a PV1, but I doubt you'd ever push it that hard. If you do, then BeoLab 5s are really what you need...

  • Re: Beolink wireless has been updated

They could, but RF is useful for connecting non B&O TVs to BeoLink as well. With increasing screen sizes, and HD becoming the norm, they can't stick with RF for that long... RF is a bit dodgy over the household wireless receivers (despite travelling miles through the air to your house), and it would be even worse with RGB or Component. BeoLink Wireless

Peter: Bulgarien is quite right with regard to Beovisions with the Dolby digital module. Alex would be correct in an audio only set up though I am less sure about sub woofers in audio set ups. With BL3s or 4s, there could be a need though. In those situations the BL2 will act as a active crossover and send less low frequency to the other Beolabs which

Plasma is definitely better, but it's not as 'smart' as LCD, it's MUCH more fragile. LCD panels take time to warm up, as you say. It's only a few minutes, and the same thing can be seen on all LCDs.

  • Re: BV7 MKIII.. Any release date? And a few more questions??

The BS3 is not a panel, it's the actual engine which keeps the set going. At present, the BeoVision 7 has an engine closer to that in the BeoSystem 1/2, which is very limited in comparison to the BeoSystem 3, both in terms of performance and connectivity. I had heard that it was going to have a new panel, but I haven't heard anything about the manufacturer

  • Re: Main Catalogue

Rombeek: And new BV7?! Well it will have the BeoVision 7 yes, but they won't make a big song and dance about the completely new internals. The only differences you'll see are an improvement in performance and connections, they never really talk about connections in the catalogues (bar the specs at the end), and performance is of course always going
