Actually bought from B&O - probably my Beogram 4004. Worst - definitely the Serene.

I'll have to make sure that I have an FM transmitter - something like an iTrip! having said that, I have quite a few DAB radios - the BC2 for starters and three Pure radios. The quality is not as good as FM Radio 3 but as I listen mainly to Radio 4, not such an issue. Shame about my Beomaster 5000 tuner though!

I think that Soundsmith do an excellent job and considering they are serving such a small market, we are fantastically lucky to have a company willing to spend money refining the B&O cartridge. I take it that the speakers you mention are passive? If so, CX100s are acceptable speakers for a small room - I use a pair regularly myself and am always surprised they sound so good. However if a bigger room, I would suggest getting a full range speaker - S75s or S120s are both usually very cheap - remembering that the S120s will need reconing. Sub

Just checked - I have conflicting articles! One says the SP2 is the cartridge of choice and later on the page is says the SP6/7. I should say that I used an SP12 on a Beogram 3000 with an ST/L arm and it does work!

I thought the original line of pick up arms used the SP1 cartridge - the later ones use the sp6/7 etc cartridges. Which cartridge does the ST/P use ? I thought that was the SP1. Clearly you know more than me! That is why I am coming to see you!

Yes, but it probably will not work that well as the tracking angle will be incorrect. You need an SP1.
