The DVD2 cannot be in the TV, I think, as you would not be able to access the disc tray. The advantage of the DVD2 is that you can burn a DVD with what you have recorded. You cannot do this with you 2 other HDs. With the HD in your cable box, the good thing is that it records the digital data without converting it to analog and then back to digital

I have seen you saying the timer could not control the PUC a few times on the forum, but that is not what I experience with my BV7. The timer (of the BV or of the HDR1) controls the PUC fine. I am using the PUC of the TV, not the one of the HDR1. p.

DVD2 has Videoplus (but not G Plus as it is done by the PUC of the TV.) p.
