Agree with The Stig, sounds like cable fault. Try swapping things around to isolate any fault.

I suggest that you contact Tim Jarman at www.beocentral.com who will probably be able to fix it if you can get it to him.

Try cleaning the laser lens with a cotton wool bud or similar either dry or damped in iso propyl alcohol. It may be dusty or covered in a greasy deposit.

Hi Phil What happens when you plug speakers into the Spk2 sockets?

I enquired about 3 months ago and the repair kit is no longer available. At one point B&O issued a magnetic CD clamper to replace the spring system and this may still be available. The part number is 3152703.

Is the low sound level apparent with all sources?

Reasonable price in my view. If you order yourself from the sole manufacturer (Soundsmith in the US) you may pay £110 with delivery and taxes.

The stands are identical.

Hi Nick and welcome to Beoworld! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I suspect that this TV has a tube problem. Common on early 28 inch avants and expensive to fix. I would avoid the TV.
