  • Re: New vintage B & O addict; Beovision L2502 fell into my lap = I now need aux speaker advice to pair it with.

Agreed! The X series were terrible speakers, I've had several pairs of X35s, and they have all sounded way below par! Gave them all away to those who wanted them! Other speakers which I haven't even seen mentioned on this forum so far would be the MCX35s, very good speakers considering how cheaply you can pick them up, and their fairly unassuming appearance

  • Re: repairing a pair of Beovox C75 loudspeakers

Isn't one of the cones ribbed, and with a smaller dust cap? If so, this is the one with the broader frequency range.

  • Re: Beovision 8 32"

I personally feel the upscaling is better on the BeoVision 8, and overall, the picture is better than on the BeoVision 7 when you consider price! I would wait for the BeoVision 7 to be updated, as personally, I think it performs under-par at present.

  • Re: Copy protected CDs

Best bet is to use WAV, AIFF or Apple Lossless as with all of these formats, the music is converted into a PCM waveform inside the computer's memory, and then stored in an AIFF container. By ripping with MP3, you lose quality, with WAV, AIFF or Apple Lossless, you will lose very little from the CD.

  • Re: keeping an mx1500 alive

This usually occurs when the internal battery loses it's charge, I've seen an MX1500 which has done this before, and it's repairable! I'm not sure of the exact process involved in changing the battery, but I'm sure one of our more technical members will be able to provide that information, as this isn't exactly uncommon. It's fixable!

Considering the L2502 only has 15 watts to play with on the speaker outputs, I would look for small easy-to-power speakers. BeoVox S25s would be ideal, as they do not suffer from foam rot (something which plagues older B&O speakers) while sounding relatively good for casual listening. They're also very sensitive which makes them suitable to be driven

  • Re: The essentials!

The problem with this thread is that it's closer to 'which B&O products aren't classics?'. There are very few B&O pieces over the years which aren't special for people in one way or another. Sure there have been duff products, but almost all B&O products are loved as much as others by some people.

  • Re: Here is ours

This sounds very promising. At the moment in the UK, the blacks on the BeoVision 7 are not that good, it suffers from bad motion blurring/stuttering, it doesn't do a very good job of displaying an SD picture (when compared to say the BeoVision 9, 4, 8 or BeoCenter 6) and also seriously lacks HD connections (as well as the audio decoding options being

  • Re: Wednesdays (again)!

Not really sure if American v English music is something you can discuss as such? That's like comparing Indian food to Chinese, just two very different but very good styles of food/music.
