Using external Sky and Freeview boxes at various times on Avant BC1 and BV5, this has been a frequent problem, but always instantly correctable by changing to an adjoining channel, viewing it for a second, then changing back to what you were watching. BC1 a good choice. My BC1 has performed faultlessly. I've had it on a video stand (when bought at a bargain price), a wall stand, and now it's on a tall pole. Well today it auto opened once before failing again. Fortunately I'v managed to switch-off the auto open and haven't had a repeat of the half-open hot hinge and run-down battery. So the phone will remain a manual open phone until it's replaced. Graham

I spoke too soon. After 24 hours of 'Normal' operation the motorised opening suddenly seems to have failed completely.
