I have just emailed Peter with the scanned copy of the manual, hopefully its all ok to go on the site. Terrific things the Beolit 1000's. I would like to have mains transformer for mine, is there a modern alternative that can be used instead of a Beopower 1000?

Its coming Peter, my scanner has died but I now have copied it on someone elses so should be able to get it to you shortly.
I've always used a glass cleaner with vinegar + a microfibre cloth. Always works a treat.
Trust me I tried! This was an impenetrable layer of yellow-brown nicotine. Not nice at all.

My Beovox Pentas have always looked very grubby and I decided to give them a spring clean. The original owner must have smoked 60 a day because they were absolutely filthy. Baby wipes just turned a nasty yellow-brown but how ever much I cleaned them the speakers remained stained and horrid. So I tried good old Solvo Autosol and they came up like new

Sounds like the little plastic bit with the spring that holds the cd in place has broken. Unfortunately this is very common and there is no replacement part available. It means that your 9000 might well have played its last cd and is now only good for tapes, radio and plugging your ipod into. Sorry!

Does anyone have a broken Beocord in the 8000 - 9000 range in rosewood. I only need it for the front veneer strip for my BM6000 which I managed to chip whilst moving it.

I really like the 80's BM6000. It may be a cheap 8000 lookalike but it sounds very sweet being bm4400 based, its remote controlled (if the board is fitted) and can be used as a clock radio. It also has a retro appeal with its big red led's. Its also powerful enough to drive most speakers.

I have been thinking about getting my BL5000 set up serviced. As much as I would love to send it all of to Frede for a rebuild I cant afford it. It all works fine at the moment but as they are getting on a bit now I am sure it would benefit from a service. Is there any one in the UK, pref. down south that can do this type of work. Does any one have
