  • Re: Interview with Torben Ballegaard Sørensen!

    (1) Is the future of B & O relegated more and more to niche and ultra-luxury markets? (prospect of the Beosound 5 comes to mind) (2) Why was the Beo5's configuration left to dealers alone? If the Beo5 could have been positioned as the best universal remote bar none, it would have garnered an entry for those unfamiliar with B & O into our

  • Solution (maybe also belongs in Beo-Mac)

I think that the best intermediate situation, if you have a Beoport and a BS9000 (like me), is to have it all connected via beoport (ML) as well as an AEX (through the AUX). Have something like a Powerbook or a MAc Mini (or a PC) in the same room (living room), so you have rough control with the Beo4, but also have FULL control via the computer screen

Time to dig up my ML distributor box! LOL (Need to find another shorter ML cable too!) Thanks, Sal

Nope, sold my Avant earlier this year. It's cool, I really don't "need" the 4000 connected to the computer... it's mainly the 9000, and that works flawlessly! Thanks for your help! I would be keen on the workaround though. -Sal

  • Beosound 4000 and N. Music?

Hi all, Apologies if this is a question I should already know the answer to, but I have been away from B & O for a while now. I just received my Beoport Box yesterday and I tried it out first with a Beosound 4000 (larger CD Clamper version) which is located in the bedroom (the computer is closer to the bedroom)... I made all the connections, etc

  • Re: Beo 5 Countdown- who get the first one...?

Mr10Percent: ...I would be surprised if the Beo5 is not hard-wired for 2-way communication sometime in the future. The plastic IR transparent screen back is way too big for just transmitting one-way. Just look at the Beo4 window. There has to be a reason for that. ... Unfortunately, the Beo4 display only has one line of text, I think seven characters

  • Re: building home theater system

Before I start, let me say that your proposition is a lust-worthy one. The only comment I have is that having BL3's in the back would be a waste of a rather wonderful speaker. I think you can save a bundle by putting a pair of BL4s on their pole stands as rear speakers. BL3's in the front are wonderful though. Everything else is great as well

  • Re: Cabinet 2164

The Beosystem 1 and ST2164 cabinets show up on eBay everynow and then. Luckily, B & O still manufactures the hinges and doors should their condition be less than satisfactory. Good Luck in your search. -Sal

  • Re: Cabinet 2164

I got mine for around $900 new back in 2002 or so. I would imagine that they're still around. They're the 4 aluminum flip down door lacquer laminated cubes, which were paired with BV5s and BV4s in the brochures. -Sal

  • Re: value beosound 9000

I'd imagine an Mk.III with box would go for a decent amount as well (I have one), not planning on selling though. What would I place on it's wall??? ;-) -Sal
