A good analogue signal on an MX7000 will beat the Avant and BV3 hands down (in my opinion) any day of the week :) Most broadcasts in the UK leave you fiddling around with the format on the Avant (my main reason for not wanting to use one anymore) ... it was the shall I watch in format one and get side bars ... or format two and lose the top or bottom

You will need a top plate to convert the MX4000 motorised based for the MX7000 ... probably these are available from your dealer ... or just buy a cheap floor stand from ebay and raid it from there. The one from the 5000, 5500, 6000 or 7000 are ok. Personally I think 16:9 is massively overrated. The picture on my MX7000 is beautiful ... extremely easy

Personally, having owned RF Avants for a number of years, I find them pretty bland to look at as a piece of furniture ... more striking if you go for the red one, but this is not everyone's choice. ok, on a different tack then ... wait until it fails and then use a freezer spray which will have a very fine jet to cool down and work the problem from the other end. my feeling is that this is probably not a chip fail ... but a systematic PCB soldering fail on one of the large BGA packages ... it would be nice to think that the PCB could be reflowed
