Analog TV is horrible anyway, so i don't think you'll be missing out on anything, mine could be in the wrong country for all i knew, as i use a STB with a scart output, and the masterlink is for audio, linking video with RF i pointless, because i have everything in the TV (DVD player). You should get a BC1 :D Will

hmmm... i love 2cv's, and to tie all this together... forget the "color/styling choices made" - but i love this .
I would want to integrate a BeoSystem 3, the difference in performance between the BeoSystem 1/2 and BeoSystem 3 is absolutely massive.
oh, i don't doubt that... but as the 8490 is basically "ready to go" out of the box, i see it as: extract the crt, plug a 15pin from the projector out on the avant
You could always mount a BeoSystem 3 on the back. This would handle any impedance matching for you.
...and maybe much closer to my original fantasy of this project... as i have an 8490 us avant (basically a beosystem 1) my intention was to simply remove the crt when it dies and add on a panny plasma and "hook

arrgh! keith, i knew it would be you to lift me up or gut me! well... it seemed like a good idea! i really wanted this as a link -and, alas my avant is an 8490 us model... however, i guess i could use it simply as a standalone with a set top box. i would need an r/g/b to scart cable (or similar) running then to to the AV input? also, if i can't

ntsc on AV is correct (according to the above) i am looking for ntsc on the coax in, so... i think i might be in luck??? ntsc appears to be selectable (at least on some sets)... fingers crossed... from the manual... "(SYSTEM…) TV broadcast system – this option is only available on certain types of TV sets, as the TV broadcast system
You should be concerned about PAL/NTSC. It's probarly not going to work!
thanks! that is one of my primary concerns! pal/ntsc converter anyone? this is from the product guide... "CTV system According to type: B/G/D/K/I/L/L´/M, PAL/SECAM, NTSC on AV" it shows both PAL and NTSC listed... what

hi all, i have read up a bit on this site and elsewhere and will continue to do so... but, this appears to be the most recent thread on the bv1... usa here... i have been contemplating the purchase of a bv1 (link version) from lifestyle (if the shipping doesn't kill me!). has anyone used one in the states? i assume they are all 220v; was a 110v
-
dave, thx for the fast reply... i will start a new/add to another bv1 thread to continue... @anders: love that furnace! amazing how similar the profiles are! how is the redo coming along? you must be very excited! are you going to move the avant off to another room and do any linking?
