I would suggest than it will be the cartridge - if the rest of the Beocenter is good, it is certainly worth a cartridge.

Very nice speaker but worth very little these days. The problem will be low power handling and speaker technology has probably moved on a bit.

Just noticed this draw from one of the B&O dealers! I think it includes the BL8000s as well! Seems to be not bad odds and maybe a good night out!

I bought my 5000 system purely because of the MCP when it first came out. Incredible for its time. These days I never use my MCP - so much so that I have loaned it out! (By the way , I have the battery cover!) The Beolink 7000 is the ultimate expression of the MCP ethos and is by far the best!

Put a record onto play and just as the needle drops onto the record, cut the power to the unit at the wall socket. (Use an old record!) The tome arm should be completely free to move at this point - there should be no resistance to moving it either up or down or laterally. If there is, then something is not disengaging in the arm lift mechanism.

Does the S25 have bolt holes for the stands? I am not sure that it does. I would also suggest that the S25 needs really to be either shelf or wall mounted to boost the bass.

Not enough! The CD5500 is the best CD player made by B&O and should fetch about £250. Definitely sell the turntable separately - if boxed it should get a good price - ? £400. The Beomaster should get about £150 and the Beocord is worth very little - maybe £50. If you sell it as a whole you will be lucky to get £700

It certainly will work - that is one of its major uses. A MCL2P and passive speakers will act just like a pair of active speakers.

I would be surprised if B&O did not fix this under warranty if it is the same problem. B&O is usually extremely sympathetic in that regard.
