• Re: Starting some Christmas fun early

That box on the lower shelf is an Antec Aria PC case that houses my HDR. I photoshopped the haphazard IR receiver out, but couldn't be bothered with the rest of the cube
Darn, too easy - or did you crank up the brightness? I though I was clever placing one candle behind the BS to create that reflection... The white VX5000 you obviously smelled

  • Re: Starting some Christmas fun early

Well I'm into minimalist decoration and a peaceful Christmas, so here's what I came up with. It's still unusually warm outside, so the BS6500 will have to take care of being snow white this time. (I'm sure most will miss one B&O! ) Also, today happens to be exactly 70 years since the war started in Finland. Probably some Danish family

  • Re: I need help with placing my new used BS9000
Where do you think the BS9000 would fit best?? I'm willing to change the corner with the black pieces of furniture.
The only places I can see it fitting are that corner - maybe above the black cabinet, and get rid of the mobile phone display cabinet which to me seems out of place already. Either side of the

  • Re: BeoVision AV5 - CDi vs VCD - PAL vs NTSC - VCD Region Codes?

I think I should have just one real CD-i (Top Gun ) somewhere in the dungeons at the office... If I can find it without turning the whole place around, you're welcome to it!

  • Re: Buttonless remote
To come back to habits, the Bikkel consept goes in a way back to the past. The old fashioned volume control was just a dial. In a way i bring the dial back with the only difference that it is now made remote. This characteristic lowers the learning curve.
I do particularly like that part of the idea. B&O

  • Re: BeoVision AV5 - CDi vs VCD - PAL vs NTSC - VCD Region Codes?

Well the AV5 was designed to be a CD-i player and I had the impression that Video CD is a subset of that, so it should work... Do you have any suitable DVD player software on a computer? They usually tell more about the disc and might reveal if it is a region problem. On a PC, you might also try ISOBuster (most useful functions are free).

  • Re: OK, who put all that Latin nonsense on the December Prize Draw?
I like the door handles!!
The door handles are MINE! (or alternatively, the bubbly).

  • Re: Are Films speeded up for TV?

Yes for PAL - or more correctly 50 fields / sec purposes. If the film is originally targeted for TV, then it may be filmed at 25 fps to begin with, which is a straightforward conversion for 50 Hz TV standards. The 4% increase in picture speed is usually far less annoying than the artifacts that would be created by a 24 fps -> 25 fps conversion, although

  • Re: Buttonless remote
2) You have to direct it the the equipment you want to control (in case of infrared).
Wrong forum for that one point; the B&O devices can usually pick the remote signal from just about any direction and after a couple of bounces off walls... A nice idea though - but just like the other posters, I'm concerned
