Hrm, they've not bothered to tell me they've got one set up! As I've mentioned many times, Sky HD on my old MKI panel is still, in my and many other people's opinion, outstanding. Certain programmes on BBC HD are stunning and seem without flaws. Yes, the panel could be brighter and the contrast improved, but the quality is represented

With my heavy HDMI -> DVI adapter, the cable often falls out. Well, 'falls out' isn't the right word - it comes slightly loose, but enough to lose the video. I guess as the HDMI cables are fairly lightweight, the chances of them coming loose is reduced compared to my current setup.

I'll wait for the Bang & Olufsen website to be updated, first. If the dealer claims there is no change, I'm not taking the risk based on hearsay. 'High glare' could just be a marketing term that applies to technology used. Yes, the 40" version has been updated for sure, but we can only speculate on the 32" based on the

355f: ...early adopters of the BV7 have found already in such a short space of time that the product lags behind even basic products for performance now I'd disagree with this. As I've mentioned before, my brother has a new 2007 Samsung 32" LCD and, through Freeview, the quality is far inferior to my MKI BV7-32. There are many more artefacts

Beolab: But go and take a look at the new BV7-32 MK III High Glare at your dealer.. I think he can make a good price for you if you trade in the old BV7... As I mentioned, my dealer says this (new BV7-32 'high glare') doesn't exist. I think you might have been mistaken. There is no new BV7-32 with improved contrast ratio. I've had this
-
Beolab: Have you tried to increase the master contrast (Backlight contrast) in the service menu then? Hm, it must be the DVD or the panel then.. Did they change panel to the MK III panel when you had it in for service? Disclaimer for my local dealer who reads these forums: I don't use the service menu. Yes, I'm sure it's the DVD player as

Beolab, I've read these forums long enough to understand all about the movie mode. It's definitely off. I've been off since I bought the TV in 2004 :) Believe me, a DVD through the DVD player is much darker than via Sky HD and that's nothing to do with a 'movie mode'. Backlight is on, I've increased the brightness (in the

Beolab: Yes in the new catalog... Beolab, there's nothing in the new catalogue about an updated BV7-32. Indeed, my dealer stated that there are no differences or improvements in the BV7-32 and the HDMI expander module isn't shipped as default with the BV7-32. However, whether a dealer includes the module in their BV7-32's, is another matter
-
Beolab: So the difference are just the BS3, 1080p and the cinema box. I should go for the BV 7-32 MK III High Glare if i wanted a 32" ... I saw it at my dealer and the picture looks greater than the old BV7-32 MK III i can say... But the 40" version also has 4 proper HDMI sockets (that handle digital video and audio) and support for 7.1 surround

It's fine if you can live with the screen resolution. A vertical resolution of 768 pixels is worse than that of the MacBook 13" consumer-based laptop. If you're planning on using an LCD for work, then you probably would need something with a better vertical resolution. The Apple 20" LCD is dirt cheap these days. Even the 23" is
