blackbird160: Can you explain why/how sprying the transformer helps please? Spraying the transformer basically replaces any laquer which was originally applied to the copper wire windings as an insulator and to also to stop the transformer vibrating. Obviously you won't get them same degree of penetration as was originally applied but I've heard

Peter: Yes, but Mk1s are much cheaper! Same basic speaker. Thought they did, I was just thinking in terms of likely condition and future connection to a later system really Chris.

Peter: If you have a 5500, I would actually get Penta 1s as they will be much cheaper and you will need to use Speakerlink anyway. Make sure the cones are OK. If not bargain the price down further and buy new units. Available from B&O still. Definately go for the Penta's, they are in a different league all together from the RL 60.2's. Peter

I think we all know that feeling. I am still the same now at nearly 45 years of age - once bitten by the B&O bug it never leaves you. Get the house to yourself for an evening with your favourite tipple to hand and sit there like a Cheshire cat all night A lovely set up BTW. Chris.

Also be careful not to touch the rubber Zebra contact strip with your fingers as this can affect it. Chris.
