You were right the first time - each prize is unrelated so each prize has a 1 in 550 chance of being one by any one member. It does not matter how many times you do it, you will always have a 1 in 550 chance. The chances of every one winning one prize is no greater than one person winning every prize. The likely event is that there will be a mix of

John is completely correct that you have a 1 in 550 chance of winning each prize. If one could only win one prize in each year, then the chances would increase for those left but this is not the case. However because the draw is completely random, it is likely that the prizes will distribute themselves relatively evenly and this does seem to have been

And with reference to the other thread, I hate Redline speakers! Have had several pairs and given them all away! Not my thing at all! Compare Redlines with some of the Uniphase speakers - S120, MS150 etc and you suddenly hear what the RLs just don't have. Again confused and muddy bass and the positioning of the tweeter ensures the top end is lacking

Speakers are a very personal choice. They make the most difference to the 'sound' of your system. Clearly your source needs to be good but the tonal balance is dependent on the speakers. Beolab 8000s are wonderful looking and good sounding speakers - but they are not the best - remember they are a compromise with small bass drivers. The only

The BM5000 is the better one - I have heard them back to back and the 5000 is simply clearer and lacks the little muddiness that the 5500 can suffer from. Having said that, I could only tell the difference back to back - I use a 5500 quite happily at home! Dedatable about cartridges - I think the limiting factor here is the deck. I have a 7000 (same

Not surprised at all. Would have been interesting if you compared the diamonds with a pair of good box speakers - something like some S120s or even M100s would show the Diamonds what real bass was like! Having said that, I use BBC LS3/5As with AB1 sub woofers in my main system and prefer them to most B&O speakers. Column speakers are always a compromise

I do actually have a review of the RX2 by Alvin Gold - his summary - "What we're left with is a capable all rounder that specialises in aesthetics and ease of use without noticeably prejudicing audio performance. There are products that can show the B&O a clean pair of heels when it comes t5o performance, the obvious example being the Dual

Possibly the best Beocord - tunes well and very convenient. Worth fixing.

Tone setting are easy. You need to add A.SETUP to the List. Bring that up and press Go and you can then scroll through Bass, Treble, Loudness and S. STORE (Sound Store - lets you save your settings)

Agree with above question - if not working properly (and most don't!), I wouldn't give you more than £50. As yours has a broken hinge mechanism (again common as the plastic used is horrid), I would give even less. If it works (stable speed and tonearm tracking properly, then it is worth more as it can be fixed using a donor machine. With
