Congratulations to all the winners, I could not be on-line to see the action in real-time, but I can see there was a lot of fun and games. Lets start by making sure we are talking about the same product, is the product you purchased a Beotalk 1401 ? I am only aware of Beotalk 400, 1100, 1200, 1400/01 and Beotalk 1100 & 1200 are the most available and used.

Gerd, You are correct that both Mark I & Mark II Beocom 6000's can be updated with new firmware and there is different firmware for each country. Ken, That can only be achieved by a download from the PC.

Jay, Option 2 ("Mx4002, with passive speakers running through tv ") would be an acceptable option because the MX4002 has Masterlink and 2 x 8-pin powerlink sockets as well as 2 x 2pin extermal speaker sockets. You don't say what your Master link product is, but I am assuming you are connecting the Masterlink to it. Given you are using
