Sadly I don't think there's a solution for the darkness you see in films, when you watch via the DVD. I can watch the same film on DVD (and it's almost unviewable, as it's so dark), then watch the film on BBC HD or Sky HD and it's brighter, sharper and far easier to watch. Which implies it's an issue with the DVD player and/or

Normally it is sent away for this to happen - I was without my TV for a month when my chassis was changed. Yes, the SW will be updated. The sad thing is though, the panel won't be :(

I'm wondering whether the white BV8 will ship with a white stand? Can you imagine if you have to sit the white TV, on a black stand? I notice there were no pics of the white BV8 on the stand, on the media center.

I'd agree. If my work didn't demand it, I'd use Leopard (OS X) for my day-to-day work, email, browsing and so on. Bought Leopard the other day and am impressed. A few bugs, yes, but nothing mission-critical here. New iMac is fantastic. I have two that use Bootcamp to dual-boot in to Vista or OS X.

The Beonic Man: than viewing non-HD on the same tv. But, the Mark II and Mark III BeoVisions look so good anyway when playing the right digital footage, you begin to question if HD on these sets is honestly worth it.. Perhaps Simon, but HD at £120/year is almost not worth worrying about, when we're discussing £8800 BV7-40's. I could

Believe me, Simon, the same TV programme through standard Freeview/Sky doesn't compare to the HD equivalent. I don't really watch 'Robin Hood', but it was on Saturday evening and I compared the standard Sky broadcast with the HD version. HD version was superior, colours sharper and less artefacts (and you can only see the artefacts on

NickinBath: ...in its final demo position which is where the BeoVision 9 is now. Sounds like a good plan. Look forward to seeing this Monday or Tuesday! Chris.

Strange, it's fine on my BV7. Logo is located in the same place as, say, the BBC HD would be located - top left of screen. Quality for that non-HD channel is fairly good, I see.
