Looking a bit closer at this together with Frede, it could be that serial numbers are a continuos range within each production run (serie). Still, it's strange that serial numbers from serie 9 are considerably lower than those of serie 3... Martin

I too have collected serial numbers and other info for many years. It's very hard to tell the number of items of a certain type produced by looking only at the serial numbers, simply because the serial numbers are seemingly not given as a continous range to a specific model but rather in the order they are produced or planned, - that is across different

A belt set for this machine is currently in the making. It has been underway for a long time but hopefully ready soon. As Peter suggests, you can make a temporary solution by glueing ends of cut belts together but especially the capstan belt is not that easily accessed so not a very easy job at all. Martin

The current rating of the original rectifier is a bit too low, especially as the old capacitors dried out and the general circuit current increased. The new rectifier should have a current rating somewhat higher than that of the original. Did you replace the rectifier too ? I am referring to the board-mounted one next to the main board fuse and capacitor C92 (not the large square one with soldered leads, sitting near the round mains transformer). If not, I suggest doing so. The original (round type) rectifier is really a bit underdimensioned and pulling the load of the old caps for any

Yes, about half a pound each in Denmark...the country that most people think of as cheap when it comes to everything B&O. And that was about 5 years ago. I've used self-adhesive felt pads since, works a treat. Martin

These are nice decks and almost always worth restoring. This one sounds like a good candidate. The speed bursts will be caused by the tachodisc (new repro part is available). The rest of the unstabilities will be caused by cracked solder joints and dried out capacitors for which a capacitor kit is available. The rest (if anything) is mainly cleaning

Welcome to Beoworld ! Generally, if the MCP lights up when you rotate the wheel, the contact is fine and the opto is dead but the contacts are easily checked with an ohm-meter (MCP batteries removed) and also easily cleaned. If the contacts are OK, the opto component is probably bad. Light output degrades with age, I've replaced a handful or so
