With the Beo4, press: LIST and the red button. Press LIST till OPTION? appears on the screen. Press GO Press LIST til V.OPT appears and then press 2. Audio option setting is the same except you select A.Opt obviously.

Agree! What else is in the room? I imagine the TV? How are your speakers attached? If to the BS5, you need both devices to be option 1 but if the speakers are attached to the TV, you need the TV to be option 2 and the BS5 option 0. Do you know how to option set?

  • Re: Beovision 8-40, Beolab 5000 panel loudspeakers

You certainly can loop the Powerlink cables - the rear Powerlink sockets carry both right and left signal.I use my rear speakers in just such an arrangement. Many people use non B&O sub woofers - the B&W one seems very popular - you will need to get a special cable though. The cloth from a Beolab 5000 is easily replaced. The cloth mounts on

  • Re: Value of a BeoGram 8000

The surround around the platter is due to the tape - take it off, clean the black goo off it and use two pack epoxy to stick it down - watch out for the small spring! The aluminium lid over the tone arm is usually about to come off as well! The speed disturbance is probably the tacho disc - yours will be celluloid - Martin can supply you with a metal

  • Re: Beogram 4004

All sorts of reasons why it does not work - even if it were just a fuse, why did it blow? More likely to be a corroded / cracked contact or a blown component. Definitely worth fixing - one of the B&O greats! Have one next to me as I type! The 4004 is built at component level so with the service manual and a multimeter, one can sort it out.

  • Re: Any mathematicians out there?

Still don't agree with this. If you had a 550 side dice as the random number generator, you will always have a 1 in 550 chance of your number coming up no matter what is rolled before. There is no possible link. It is likely if you roll the dice 550 times that it may come up but if you have rolled it 549 times and it has not come up, you still have

  • Re: IM NEW TO THIS SO PLEASE HELP - Best piece of equipment to suit my needs

It does depend on exactly what you want. The Century is a good sounding stand alone device which has a basic cassette player, CD player and FM/AM (in most cases) radio. If you don't need the cassette and don't use AM, then the Beosound 1 is another more modern single piece unit. Neither can be expanded any further. After that, we come to the

Agree though the cloth speaker covers might get sticky! An Ouverture with Beolab 2500s with the metal fronts could be preferable. Also allows expansion in the future.

  • Re: Any mathematicians out there?

But just because you did not win once does not mean that you have any more chance of winning the next time. You do not have 120 chances out of 550! You have 120chances/ 550*120 . Of course every time there is a prize, you have a chance 1:550. But it can never be greater than that (except for the fact that Lee and I put the prizes back if we win!) The
I don't follow the maths. 120 individual prizes for 550 members. If we had a one Prize Draw with 120 prizes up for grabs, and 550 'entrants' - what would the odds be? That's the same odds but spread over a year, surely? Lee
The problem you are having is that you are increasing the top figure but
