I am always willing to be proved wrong but I cannot believe that you can simply upgrade a MX5000 to a MX5500. They are a completely different chassis with the former being a Thompson and the latter a genuine B&O design. To my knowledge, none of the bits are interchangeable. Nobby will know for sure.

brunetto77: For the motor stand to work you need to make sure that you connect its cable with the tv switched off for what I remember. Then you turn on the tv and this should recognize the new component. Then press PICTURE on the beolink 1000 and you should see the word [STAND] on the screen apart from Colour, Brightness, Contrast. I don't know why the 1000 doesn't work, the theory says that it should. The 1000 also has problems storing the sound/picture config at startup. Strange but I can assure you that I have tried. I have the MX7000 up for sale and have had to put a Beo4 with it instead of a cheapie Link 1000!

Hi Scott, It really is a struggle with the Beo4 software and I suggest that you change the remote. I have a MX7000/Beo4 and I have been trying to operate it with a BL1000 and gave up in the end! The suggestion above does not work with my MX7000 so I doubt if it will with your 4000
