• Re: I love plastic

scognamiglio: Plastic is a great material, plastic used by B&O is warm and cool at the same time, with a great feeling and "touch" (beovision 1 and also the beovision 8). In Italy (the "country of the design") we used plastic from the sixties: masterpieces are made in plastic. Alluminium is also great but I don't think that

  • Re: New iPod Speakers System

spthomas: I think the reason the iPod sits in front is that it makes the ergonomics of operating it better. The iPod is designed to be operated by your thumb as your handle cradles it; if you mount it into something and have to use your index finger to operate it, it isn't so nice. Yes that's true I suppose. I am not really impressed with the

  • Re: the new b&o philosophy

Personally I have no problem with B&O using other components. Some components are just too expensive to be produced by a small company like B&O. Without third party components there probably wouldn't even be a B&O today... The key to success is in my humble opinion careful selection of these components. And their products really should

  • Re: New iPod Speakers System

Actually, I like it. Would I buy one? Well, no. First of all: All the audiovisual equipment I have is B&O and personally I want to keep it like that. Second of all the design is OK in my opinion, but I don't like the way the Ipod sits in front of the cabinet. The design lacks the genius that you can find in many B&O products. Read my signature

  • Re: ICEpower amplifier for car hifi ?

BeoIce, Other manufacturers than Alpine and Pioneer that have ICE-power amplifiers are: JBL, Kenwood and Sony. In general I prefer factory-fitted systems, so I have no idea which after market manufacturer is best, but now you have a bit more choice. But that's just "Die Qual der Wahl" I suppose.

  • Re: jeremy clarkson about danish design and B&O

jandyt: Yes, Jensen Interceptor. I was only joking, I don't think it's anything to do with 'our' Jensen. The Jensen Interceptor has indeed nothing to do with the Jensen we're talking about here. This is of topic but I can't help my self, so here's a bit of automotive history: The coachbuilding firm Jensen was located in West

  • Re: jeremy clarkson about danish design and B&O

I forgot to mention: Not all Danes can make good looking cars. Jacob Jensen had a go once. Great designer, but he must have had a bad day this time. I believe it was a called the Jensen one. It was based on a Citroën XM. Let the picture speak for itself.

Hmm. Clarkson has his unique view as usual. Made me realize how much of my belongings have a Danish origin.
