They are thinner - the ribs are not so raised - an 8000 platter would be best but may be tricky to find. Some US enthusiasts actually used a glass platter with the radial marking made from strips of black tape. The one I have seen was mirrored and had a record clamp fitted!

Bad luck! I would suggest a new platter is definitely the way forward though. I do not think that you will be happy with the result of removing and replacing the ribs. Look for a broken 8000 or even a 8002. A 6002 should work as well but both this and the 8002 will need to be levelled.

What is your system? Are you trying to access the timer on the main set or a link set? I am sure we can help with a little bit more information.

If you have a line out socket on the TV (probably RCA plugs) you need a two RCA to 5 pin DIN lead which you run to the Aux on the Beocenter 2500. Select Aux and you will be there.

My AV9000 also has a Sky box attached - however I am aware that the STB-C module is no longer easily available. I didn't think the AV9000 could be used as a slave though! Which model is it?
Isn't the 12h format reserved for primary school children and thickos only?
A trifle judgemental! I think both are widely used! It is good that B&O cater for both preferences.

I had the 4000 which could record as well. It is a very good teaching aid but I found it picked up too much surface noise and went back to a normal Littman. It is beautifully made though and I sometimes think about trying again!

The SP12 is a great cartridge - The 12002 is much the same as the 3000 which was the top of the line deck at its time and these do dound great. The motor will need servicing and once done will in my opinion be superior to the 5005. These decks had good figures but disappointing sound.I am not surprised at all by your findings.Congratulations on finding

I think you are thinking about the Beogram 4000 series decks in which the sensor arm has a lit up logo on the end of the arm. There will be a picture in the product section I imagine - on mobile so not easy to look from where I am!!
