Peter : Actually the only problem with the 7000 is the lack of connections compared to my 5500. It no longer has all the RCA plugs , just DIN connections which means that one cannot connect so much. I suppose they needed space for the Powerlink sockets but it is a definite disadvantage. Ah I see................. may as well just bin it then if it's

You have a very, very lucky friend!

Jandyt: Hooray Henry!!! Well done mate. You can take your hat to Italy with you. Surely that should be Sloane Square, London rather than Italy

C'MON CHAPS - this is a free competition, requiring no skill, knowledge or effort and you could possibly win a Beo5 We have threads requesting a user contribution facility and yet we can't even muster more than a few handful of entries to a free competition If you don't really want the hat, use it to take a photograph of the most original

Jandyt: Try as I may, I can't get the PCG sorted!!!! I have downloaded the newest Adobe Reader but when I download the PCG it does not have .pdf on the end of the file name, so how can I change it to .exe? Really frustrated now. Where are you downloading the PCG from??? If its from the original link in this thread then save the file to somewher

For normal TV rf then use RG-59 or RG-6 type cable. I'm not sure the HD signals are available on coax. type connections (they typically require cable or satellite connections which is a different cable type altogether) they normally would use HDMI connections between the STB and the display/TV.

I would prefer a uniformly presented product/faq section rather than something structured in a haphazard manner. I also appreciate fact sorted from opinion. If CS2008 improves the search facilities (and it does need improving) then I would encourage anyone who would like to contribute to the site do what they could do already and forward their submission

Jandyt: ............................ Probably because I soldered my index finger and clouted my big finger with a hammer on the same hand today. You're nowt if not versatile

Do bear in mind that jandyt and Peter were away from Beoworld during one of the "example" weeks - easily worth 100,000 posts! 1,292,353

As you suspect, the 5000's rely on being wall mounted to achieve their bass performance. The user manual doesn't give any recomendation regarding optimum mounting height and it's difficult to experiment without leaving you wall full of holes I think you will have to rely on recommendations from current/previous owners.
