Peter: tacobavaria: The present DVD drives are, I believe, sourced from Pioneer. The CD drives are originally Philips but are now a separate company. same design though! Not too surprising as there are only a hand full of manufacturers of these types of product. Aiwa, who were later taken over by Sony, made the tape decks. Pioneer, yes. Only company

tascam: compared to real stereo equipment. You can get the same sound for 1/3 of the money. The guts of this stuff are made by Philips and others. You pay a big price for the shell Sorry, but this is rubbish. The BeoSound 1 provides a rich and precisely defined soundstage relative to its speaker footprint, it is handily moveable and has various connectors

There are things one can knock B&O for, but not the state of its products out of the box, in my experience. I have bought lots of B&O through the years, and pulling product out of the box has always been sheer pleasure over the quality of the finish and workmanship. Sounds as if you have looked at returned items that the dealer tried to sell

classic: The restoring of the drivers for B&O speakers is possible and several offers this service in Denmark for about GBP 300 or € 50. I have used this service several times and normaly the result is exelent. Peter: They actually sound very similar but the Beogram 4000 is in my opinion the best looking and also has the heavier platter. It is also the best made and has not had the bean counters stripping it which is what happened later on! They were perfectly right so to do mind you as the 4000 has features that are simply unnecessary. It is also by far the

I'm thinking of using a Beogram 4000 or 4002 (4) together with my Beolab 5000 amplifier. Not having access to the old forum I'd like to ask the gang about compatibility and preferences. ?

This may have been covered - but I'd like to see the menu line above the General Forum changed, if possible. HOME on a site is usually the starting page for the site; here it's different things. When you're in the Forum, as I am now, it takes you to the Forum opening page, not www.beoworld.org. Since NEWS etc, are at the www.beoworld.org
