Henry, I got a very good RIAA for £50 from www.musicmatters.co.uk they have a London branch. Mine is a Pro-Ject. Not sure of the model. It is buried behind my F1000 unit. Will try to dig it and take a look. Craig

Alex: The 900K/900 actually sound surprisingly good, despite their age. Very cool with all the lights off... Yes, my BM900 has a lovely warm sound to it. Something you seem to get on equipment that age. Craig

Went to take some rubbish to local tip one day. Whilst unloading my van, I heard the lady at the car next to me ask where old turntables went. Looked round to see her holding a BG1200. Quickly asked why the were throwing it away. It runs slow her Husband replied. then asked if I would like it. Got it home and cleaned the motor after some expert advice

Well someone has an MMC1 listed on Ebay at the moment on a BIN of £300 or best offer. Craig

Yes, you will need an external RIAA amp for it to work. Craig

Thanks Alex, I will dig it out and take a look. My ex Father-in-law used to have an original Mono version of Sergent Peppers. Even had the original reciept inside, showing it was purchased on the day of release. Craig

One thing I found was that after buying a Beogram my vinyl collection expanded very rapidly. Now have both cubes of my F1000 full with LP's. What are you going to connect to, as you may need a seperate RIAA if it some of the newer equipment. Craig

tournedos: I know the feeling. Last summer I saw a Beomaster 900K (the wide one with built-in speakers) at a flea market, and immediately knew I had to have it. I knew before what B&O was, but that was about it. The salesperson said I could bring it back if it didn't work. Fat chance! I had to fix one of the output stages and still have work

If you are thinking about an Avant, you might also consider a used BV3-32. These are an absolute bargain over what they cost from new. Uses the same chassis as the Avant, the big difference been no built in VCR or DVD. Craig
