Agree with Jay. Have you tried re=setting to option 1 as he suggests?

Hi Joel, Glad we could help and welcome to BeoWorld.

Come on Andy, I enjoy your yarns!

Does this work with a Mk1 Beocom 6000?

Gerd: joeyboygolf: AFAIK it cannot be done on a MK1, at least not without changing the circuit board. No need to change the circuit, it can be done by flashing the corresponding software! You will have to ask your dealer though I think we have been here before Gerd. Neither Keith nor my dealer think this is possible. I have a Dutch and German phone

Dillen: From a technical point of view, I think it could be interesting to know about eventual technical troubles prior to an eventual purchase. I never serviced a pair yet and never owned any of them but I wonder if anyone ever encountered electronic faults or the likes with either the 6000 or 8000 or are they just technically rock solid ? Suspect wrong option settings in Beocenter 2 On Beo4, press standby and list together then list until Beo4 reads Option? Press Go then list until Beo4 reads AOpt then 1 Standby on Beocenter 2 should blink and Beo4 should now work. Good luck!

This fault is probably not with the relay. I would suspect power supply or more likely somewhere further along the chain such as power amp fault. The shut down is a safety feature. Suggest you have a service centre look at it and quote for repair.

Have you changed anything recently? Speaker leads for instance.
