jazz: I'm stunned by the negative attitude of many of the posters on this web site about this new product. Or am I?? We are not being negative. We're just a little worried about direction, pricing and who they are trying to target. You'll (or I have) notice there seem to be an increase in negativity lately, for a good reason. We're all

Because it looks god-damned awful! Simple. Can't we make that decision? I can categorically tell you that - if it's anything resembling that image - it's awful. I don't like the shape, the size, the design.
-
Alex: Here we go again, judging the design before we've seen it in the flesh To be fair Alex, we can make a judgement based on what we've seen. It can change, if the final item is different. I'm not making a purchasing decision yet, just an observation based on the image - same way many Mac users either drool or moan about so-called mockups

Totally agree re. the 7.1 or 7.4. I just can't understand why it's not a smaller alt-based center speaker. ie. more of a thinner horizontal 7.4. Like the new BV4 though.

Alex: As Peter has said, it's not an issue with the hardware, but a software issue in the TV. Wait a bit, and if the BeoSystem 3 is anything to go by, the BeoVision 7-40 should be stunning even with SD. I am waiting Alex, but that won't stop me sending a complaint directly to B&O. It's a bit embarrassing to be owning a £8K+ TV

Henry: Upon my current understanding of the BeoSound 5, I entirely agree with Simon. For now I don't think I really want to move into digital with my media entertainment at home. I am quite happy with my CD collection and CD player. Do others feel differently? I'd be happy to have a BeoSound 5 (surely it be a 'BeoCenter'?), in addition

Whatever you do, keep that MKII BV7-32! If I'd known, in hindsight, how bad my new BV7-40 MKIII would be, for SD, I'd not have made the upgrade so soon - football on SD is almost unbearable. Watched the Stoke v Newcastle game last night and the MKIII wasn't capable of processing the heavy rain and movement, through SD. It was very pixelated

Since buying my new BV7, I asked them to connect up my BL2. It's *very* impressive with movies. Almost too impressive. I now end up changing the volume as any loud bang causes the floor to shake (and I have people below me ;). So, if you live in a detached house, get yourself a BL2 and ramp up the volume. You won't be disappointed. Doesn't
