Personally, I think the BM6000 is a lovely hifi, but of course does have its pitfalls, and you can guarrentee that just about every example you pick up will need the same work doing to them sooner or later! When in good service they are a joy to use and the sound is good enough for me - and after doing a blind test with an 8000 and speaker switch there

Ah sorry to hear that! I guess if things gradually got worse resulting in a bang (without the olufsen hehe) then there is obviously something else a-miss... The thud in the video sounds worse than it is because the mic would have been on max gain, and the mechanical sound of plugging in produced more noise than I realised! Do you like the led mod BTW

Yes I would also love to spend time working with Martin, he certainly is a credit to all whom love using, and enjoy servicing B&O, and for manufacturing those special unobtainable parts well, where would we be without his valuable knowledge and expertise? I am sure hxpro was an entirely seperate (and accidental) invention discovery by a b&o tech working on a system to consistantly setup tape decks on the production line, although I am sure Dolby would like you to think otherwise! Anyway congratulations B&O on a superb product and a great overall stratagy!

Hi Geoff, how are things doing with your 6000? I designed and built the circuit I mentioned works very well and fits neatly between capacitors and pre-amp board, I will pm with details if you want. I also tested the switch mod on a 4004 with lovely results, very happy! Anyway, give us an update :)

I reckon it is either tr16 or ic3. Have you taken any measurements? try shorting C+E of tr16 see what happens...

Well spotted Mika! @Menahem this is a naked servo motor out of a 400x series...

Anyone want to hazzard a guess as to why this servo motor was a tiny bit strained when running one way bit when rotating the other was fine?

should be ok to test imo but I think you need to work on the fault circuit while waiting for the replacement!
