  • FREE Vintage Brochure.

I have recently bought some more vintage stuff (see my other thread!)and have got a double of a mini range brochure from 1967. If any one wants it, they can have it but they must make a small donation to Beoworld to help keep the site alive. Its only small but everythings there and its a nice thing to add to your collection. There is some slight damage

  • Re: AM I CRAZY, OR IS THAT A BEOMASTER 6001?

Very interesting. One of my favourite pieces of B&O. I wonder what the differences are.

I have to agree with you John. I'm sure a Frede special would be amazing but I cant justify spending £1500 on a stereo that stands me in less than £100. Yes it would look and sound better but as my 5000 has beaten of my 8000 and 6000 systems and I prefer the sound it gives through the pentas to what I got from an overture and BL8000's

  • Re: Beomaster 1000 = Surprisingly Musical Amplifier

We seem to have similar tastes. I am on the look out for a BM1000 as part of my collection. Glad to hear that they sound nice too.

Take a look at the 7000 series music centres, they are rather under rated. A 7700 with the Master Control Panel is a really good sounding bit of kit and is normally cheaper to buy than a stack system. Any of the 7000 range will sound good and will look nicely "retro". Add a decent pair of uniphase speakers and you will have a great system

  • Re: Beogram 1000

I would say that you should get one. They are not as good a deck as the others you mention but for the price that they cost these days its well worth having one just to complete your collection. They dont cost a lot and the early siver topped versions do look nice.

  • Beomaster 1000 Wanted.

I would quite like a Beomaster 1000 to complete my collection from that period. If possible a white key version.

  • Re: What was your first B&O purchase and why did you purchase?

Mine was a LX2500 (i think). I wanted a TV for my bedroom and had aways hankered after B&O. I found the LX advertised locally for cheap and was amazed by the picture and sound. Since then I have bought lots more (none new, I cant afford it!) now my audio is all from about 1969, BL5000, BM3000, BM900 etc. The video is taken care of by an Avant and

  • Re: My BV3 is still going strong

I have a BV3 and an Avant. I find that HD is slightly better than I get on my TV's but SD on a panel is rubbish compared to the CRT's. I havent seen anything to make me want to change tv's yet. Also as 3d ones are appearing on the market, maybe now is not the time to buy a new TV as non 3d will be old hat soon.
