Thanks for the replies - my avant is a curved screen one so may not be able to handle option 4 - I'll try it though. I tried setting the Beo4 to option 4 but it didn't work - how do I find out what software version it has?

I have a 32" Avant that is being used as a link TV - on Radio and CD the sound is perfect. When I press DTV the sound is quite tiny and doesn't seem right, if I tune the TV to the frequency of the Sky box the sound is also just as bad. If I press LINK-AV then DTV the sound is perfect. I have two questions - is there a way of getting the TV

Hi - am I right in thinking then that if I connected a Beocord Cassette Deck with Datalink 7 Pin Din into the converters Aux socket it would respond to A.Tape commands? through Masterlink? and a similar turntable would do the same through Phono?

I think a lot depends on the space you are going to put the TV in and also how close you are to the set. I used to have a BV3 on the stand and loved it, but they do take up a lot of space and you've got all the wiring to sort out whereas everything is integrated in the Avant. What happens if you press TV on the sky remote and then the number 1 on it - it should switch the TV onto Channel 1

Actually that's a good point and if it is only an hour then I may as well. Thanks Andrew

I need to buy an upgrade chip for a STB-C fitted to an Avant 32 VCR so that it can control Sky+, the dealers I've spoke to say that they can only order it if an engineer fits it - as I've fitted chips before and am confident/proficient in this area I want to fit it myself as it'll be cheaper - any ideas where I can order from and also if

I think you should check in the SKY setup that SCART Control or something is switched on, and that the box is connected to the TV using the acrt cable from the SCART TV out socket on Sky+ - you should then be able to press TV and then 1 on the SKY+ remote to switch the TV on the SKY on SKY+ remote to switch on Sky - the TV should then switch to your
