  • My guess......

Makes you wonder why B&o went for the Lcd screen over Plasma in 7-40 , would appear to have solved a lot of picture issues . Because BV7 tends to be mounted on a motorized stand, the 40 pound difference between the relevant LCD and Plasma panels would make a huge difference in engineering. r

SAN FRANCISCO — HD DVD, the beloved format of Toshiba and three Hollywood studios, died Friday after a brief illness. The cause of death was determined to be the decision by Wal-Mart to stock only high-definition DVDs and players using the Blu-ray format. There are no funeral plans, but retailers and industry analysts are already writing the obituary

From a CES quote: Peter Petersen, B&O's Chief Technology Officer, said they had been planning on making a combo player but after Friday's Warner's announcement they have dropped plans to include HD DVD and now will develop only a BD player. He said it would be available in 2009.

Spring '73. Freshman year in college. "Dark Side of the Moon" in SQ surround. That's all I remember. Or was it "Space Oddity"? I think that might have been part of the problem with Quadrophonic vinyl. Ray

Soundproof, As always, you offer substantial food for thought. After I read the article about BeoLab 5, I dug further into theaudiocritic.com archives and read a few of his articles about audio voodoo. Because I tend to think that what a/v people write must be the truth, it is refreshing but sad to note that this expert suggests that alot of it is hooey

Apple has lost 40% of its market value in 6 weeks, mostly since MacWorld. Are they one the way out, as well? r
