Someone has given me a Marantz 1060 amp for free, still in its original packing and box. Can't say I like the look of it but I took it anyway. I see its from about 1975. Does anyone have any info? Is it any good? Worth keeping at all? Thanks Ben

I've watched one 3D movie and it hurt my eyes and since I don't wear glasses I found it uncomfortable and I felt like an idiot with them on. I did read somewhere that watching long periods of movies in 3D format is actually harmful for you.
Hi BenSA I think that you have hit the nail squarely on the head. I have never actually seen the component side of the 1900 board in that area because I have never had a reason to take off the front control panel. Now that I have taken a closer look at the solder side of the 1900 and 2400, the boards appear to be similar

The board on the BM1900 has the markings where the components for the remote should go (think it even says remote) but it doesn't have any of the components actually soldered in. So it is more difficult then that as you would have to buy all the components and solder them on plus I'm not sure it will work anyway because that part of the board
I'll keep my eyes open "over here". If an acceptable one (IMHO) shows up... I'll grab it for you. So, do keep us posted and good luck! The quest has always been half the fun to me!
Thanks Jaff....well it was quite fun in the beginning but now it seems to be getting a old......frustration is
They do come up on their own from time to time. I had my 6000 Quad back from repair for about 1 day, and posted a similar request to yours, when Craig spotted one on a Buy it Now on eBay for £35. I snapped it up there and then, and it arrived a day later. I know I was lucky, but I'm hopeful you'll get

Are these just totally and utterly impossible to get hold of? I have been searching endlessly to no avail! Surely someone must have one lying around! I don't want to buy a BM 6000 just to get the remote! I suppose to make a remote is a bit of a mission, well not to look like the original just so I don't have to get up and adjust the volume.
I don't have one at the moment.
No problem, just thought I'd ask. Thanks for replying!

The Beocenter 9500 is slightly newer than the 9000 but within recent years it too has started to show CD reader faults (more than 95% of them fixable). Stuck sliding doors and slipping belts, the cassette belts falling off, cracked solder joints at the voltage regulators, bad muting
