What cleaner did you use for the inside? Since something like electrostatic capacity is used for control, dust and some rests of the cleaner can cause such symptoms. Dont use alcohol or paint thinner for cleaning, pure hot water is enough. And no fingerprints inside ;)

Yes, send me your email... 5 pages manual. It's too much for posting here.

There is a reset pin on the CPU board, that will enter the service mode. With a special command you can clear all data on the NV RAM and program the BM to basic settings. If you disconnect the lithium cell, then some data of the radio section must be recalibrated... i'm sure you will not want that. You have a manual? There the service mode is documented

Yes, the lithium memory battery is leaking, loosing acid over the cpu board. Yes, there is not only one battery inside, there is also a 2430 cell inside under the cpu module. Or our old friends, the caps. Probably the lithium cell... seen several times that the acid is leaking over the cpu chip, destroying the copper layer of the board.

Hört sich sehr nach einer schlechten Lötstelle an. Klopf mal drauf, von verschiedenen Positionen. Kein Witz jetzt...

Yes, the BL7000 is pretty old and the caps are going bad. The first indicator for bad caps is a bad or slow two way communication.
