The vol+ key probably does not work because the glass is loose and not making good enough contact with the rubber underneath. This is not unusual. I suggest that you remove glass and the plastic frames (remove screw under left end of Beocenter) and re-attatch using one of the prescribed methods. Do this to the keyboard and the display as they will both

You are in that place you mention..........unless you strip it down some more. None of it is rocket science, only screws and bits of plastic. If the protrusion is indeed broken off and that is the only damage, the arm will still be useable once the cartridge is installed and the stylus weight is set. I am afraid that the only resources available are

Listing ended early as "the item is no longer for sale". It may have been the subject of an "off eBay" transaction? Alternatively, the seller just regretted the 6 month warranty on all that semi-ancient stuff especially at that price. Madness!
