Graham, The 4 digit "Type" number defines a combination of "Country" and/or Broadcast Type i.e. PAL or NTSC and/or power etc. So, any B&O product could have many type numbers depending on where it is sold etc. For example an AVANT DVD Mark III has 10 different type numbers from from 8460 to 8469. Type 8463 is sold in the UK whereas

Graham, The Video tape version of the AVANT had the physical videotape at the bottom of the unit and it is connected electrically to the main TV via two cables, one being a short SCART cable which plugged into the VTAPE socket. The whole unit can be removed without affecting the working of the TV itself. It comes out in one box leaving a big space.

That's why many members like me still use the AVANT as the main viewing TV, the picture is really difficult to beat

Eduard, A good review, but it is a pity about the leather case. I was considering the Beosound 6 for a Christmas present for my wife, we will see.

Tom, Well, have a very happy thanksgiving and don't eat yourself out of house and home. Well, your technican could be correct depending on exactly what is the output of the STB. What your B&O technician is talking about is using pin 20 of the SCART connector which is "composite video in" (sync). If your STB has a Coax out AND left

-
This is a really strange problem statement with your two Beocom 6000's Firstly, whilst a "brown out" or power failure could cause problems with the base, I fail to see how such failure would effect two Beocom 6000 handsets in exactly the same way. Also if the Base was at fault, it still has no way of effecting the display in the manner

Torben, BeoLink Wireless 1 can now be used in a Master Link setup meaning you can use it in place of the cable. When Beolink Wireless 1 was first released it could only be used in a Power Link setup typically using the new version of Beolab 3500. All Beolink Wireless 1's must be at least version 2.0 or greater and each unit must be running the same

Let me start by saying that you can and normally would trigger your Topfield box using SAT or DTV depending which Beo4 model you own. You apparently say your AVANT is a Video, but in the connections menu you can use the right and left hand arrows to change the source. Be aware that changing one effects the facilities available for the other scart. As

Pleased you are happy with the phone. If you want a stylish phone for use only as a phone i.e. not web browsing etc then the Serene is very good..
