Agreed! I have a 6500 (both seem very similar in build), and the quality is very very impressive! Mine has some slight scratch marks, but much less than you would expect for 20 years of use. Same with the BeoLink 1000! The one I use primarily (mk3) has had quite a few knocks, and it's still in perfect shape.

I agree with Chris about using BL4000s as rear speakers. BL4s are fine for background music in a medium-small room, or as rear speakers in a Dolby Prologic setup. However, nobody uses Prologic any more, and hence you will want something a bit beefier. BL4000s are great speakers, and will easily be able to keep up with 3s as fronts Also, when you say

Not sure it's better in every way! Try driving some passive speakers with both systems, or even really comparing the output from the PowerLink connections. The 6500 is sonically better in both situations (although when driving active speakers, the difference is minimal).

What they were talking of doing with Leopard, was a way of booting into Windows (yes fully booting, not emulating) while in Leopard. It's actually possible, but they've dropped that feature now . I believe the Beeb had a class action filed against them, and they've now said they're going to release it for Mac at a later date.

As others have said, if you're driving active speakers, then the 4500 would really easily be the best choice for you. However, if you're driving a relatively large pair of passive speakers, you may find the 4500 struggles to meet the power demands of the speakers!
